NAAO+ is:
emily steinfeld mahler designed naaohistory.com and is a Brooklyn based artist and web designer working with bio-materials and metal and the internet. Find her work at: Es-mahler.com & nowave.site
charlotte r. murphy worked at NAAO from 1984 to 1992, and was the executive director from 1986 to 1992. Murphy is the originator of NAAO+, and created it to capture the oral history of NAAO; provide a place where anyone can hear and read first hand accounts of an important time in history and the arts; read original NAAO documents and materials, and various other written materials relating to NAAO and artists’ organizations; and provide some context to both through an ever-evolving history of NAAO found here.
nicole ostrow specializes in the preservation of artist legacies with a focus on under-represented histories and truthful storytelling. In addition to NAAO+, she works with archives of the choreographer and dancer Muna Tseng and the Estate of the late photographer and performer Tseng Kwong Chi. Nicole holds a degree in Art History from Barnard College.
NAAO+ is made possible by the foresight and labor that resulted in NAAO Archives, a website originated by penny boyer
